After the recent tough news for the families of the Tubbs fire, I thought it might be nice to hear something uplifting. These boys lost their home in the Santa Rosa fire, but in the gray ash, they found pieces of wind chimes they had made in a summer camp with us. We were able to take the shattered and sharp pieces of glass and re-fire them into forever pieces of usable art that they will take forward in their new life.

From our studio drop-ins to parties and events, the fun never stops at I Made It! Glass Creations. Last week at the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce’s Business Showcase, we were the winners for the “Most Fun Booth” award! The Business Showcase gives businesses the chance to show what they are all about and make connections within the community. We are so honored to be chosen from over 100 businesses in attendance as the most fun, and want to extend our gratitude to the judges of the event as well as special thank you to Joanne Webster, the Chamber President, for her continual support of our art studio.
The fun doesn’t stop there though; over the weekend we were also at the West End Neighborhood Association’s (WENA) Block Party! In the midst of the bouncy house and face painting, we offered a touch of art with free fused glass magnet making. It was so fun to meet neighbors and get to know members of our community, and boy can they cook!
If you made a magnet at the WENA Block Party, don’t forget you can come by our studio and pick a magnet from our party room wall to take home. Magnets made at the Block Party will be put out on Friday, September 21st; come in to the studio ASAP for the best chance to find the one you created and stay and play with your $5 coupon.
Never miss us taking glass on the go! We will be at the San Anselmo Country Fair Day on September 30th. For more info and to see other events, both in our art studio and out and about, check our Calendar/Events page on our website. We can’t wait to see you for some fused glass fun!

As a professional artist who loves making fused glass art, it had been a dream of mine to open a relaxing drop in art studio where anyone, regardless of experience and age, could learn to design and create beautiful fused glass art.
On July 21, 2016, I opened the I Made it Glass Creations Art Studio in San Rafael, CA. Since opening our doors almost two years ago, our business has grown and expanded. We now offer art classes for all ages and experience, fun kid birthday parties, summer camps, adult parties, homeschool art classes, team building events and after school enrichment classes. We purchased an extra large kiln now named “Sir Melts a Lot” to keep up with demand. In addition, there are now over 100+ fused glass art projects to fit every budget, and we offer pop up art classes and parties, which we can bring to your location!
Giving back to the community has been a special focus for our staff and me. We’ve made donations to schools, charities and donated our time (mine/staff) and materials on special art projects, including the recent glass curtain children’s project in partnership with Mill Valley Recreation.
When someone asks me what is the best part of my job, I always tell them, it’s the reveal when a client picks up their beautiful artwork and I get to see the joy on their faces – it’s as if they can’t believe they actually made it. Now you know how I came up with the name for the art studio!
I think it is important to thank all those who have helped us get to this anniversary milestone. On July 21, 2018 (S), we will be holding an anniversary celebration. We hope to see you and be able to thank you in person!
